Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival
Theatre lovers rejoice! 2012 marks the first year of the Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival, showcasing a unique selection of musicals at its three theatres in Auburn, NY. In preparation of the upcoming season, a new website was launched in August 2011.
The product is center-stage
Directly on the middle of the homepage is a billboard sized introduction to every show in the 2012 season. As the shows slide by in an eye-catching animation, visitors have the option to learn more and buy tickets for each individual show. This valuable homepage real estate is well suited to showcasing the website's most valuable product: the shows.
Where the heck are the Finger Lakes?
Every theater and show page has an interactive Google Map display, with the option for visitors to get directions by entering their address directly into the map. The directions show directly on the page, both in map and list form. And of course, the directions are ready to print and take on the go. See you there.
Access everything from anywhere
The custom 3-tier navigation allows users to find what they are looking for with ease. The main navigation bar features several of the most useful pages on the site. Click on any option, and the sub-navigation slides down to display useful links to relevant content. Rather than using drop-downs, our sliding navigation allows us to display show times, theatre locations, and sponsored ads directly in the secondary navigation. Want to learn more about the shows? Click on that tab, and the show names, running dates, and theatres are available right there; click on any one to view more details.
Visitor interaction on every page
All major social networks are embedded directly in the footer of every single page on the website. Visitors can opt to follow on Twitter, like on Facebook, and watch on YouTube. Visitors don't even have to click; the latest Tweet shows up right there. All of this, including contact information for the Finger Lakes MTF's headquarters, are an integral part of the site - we put them on every page.
