One of several Catholic Diocese websites in our portfolio, launched in early 2012, many, many pages – look for the Spanish version pages, also managed in the CMS.
What? You don't know the name of every Deacon in New Jersey? No worries, neither did we. But we do now with the help of the Diocese's "I Am Looking For" area of their website. From any page, you have the option to search for any resource you need, including churches, schools, parishes, staff, clergy, and cemeteries. You can even filter churches by mass times and schools by charter.
For geographic locations, you view the results of your search on a custom map application. Each location is displayed on a map, with a coresponding list view to browse. Click on any location to view more details, including address, phone number, and hours.
The finder is perfect for locals who need mass times near their home, or clergy at nearby churches. A secondary benefit is for people considering a move to New Jersey; schools and parishes can quickly be found near their prospective home. This is one of the most heavily trafficked sections of the site, we know it's useful to visitors.
The entire website development process was handled with videoconferences (we love GoToMeeting.com). No one at Syracuse Design Group has even met anyone from the Diocese of Metuchen. We've never shaken hands, never had a cup of coffee together.
More and more often, we are meeting our clients in cyberspace. Yet the project was designed and developed perfectly. Between phone conversations, screen sharing, and storing documents in the cloud, we provided a web solution for Metuchen that didn't require a face-to-face meeting. Setting up a real-time videoconference room takes seconds, with both parties able to see, and control, the same computer screen. Incidentally, we are planning a trip to visit several clients and we can't wait to meet our favorite clients in New Jersey this Summer!
After having migrated our office’s web pages via your CMS to the new site, I must admit I am extremely impressed with the application. For me, it’s a very well thought out application and it’s a great deal more robust and stream-lined than what I was used to in our former CMS. Tasks are much easier and take a good deal less time to complete so that’s a welcomed positive for me.
