A whole new website re-design in 2011 paved the way to continue TDO's mission to "accomplish economic development through the support of high tech entrepreneurs and manufacturing businesses" in Central New York. The original website was one of Syracuse Design's first, way back in 2002. Needless to say, the web has grown by leaps and bounds since those early days, and the new, state-of-the-art TDO website is testament to this growth.

Promote once, promote all over

Similar to just about every other part of the website, TDO's home page promo buckets are fully managable in the Content Management System. The promo buckets are the five square advertisements at the bottom of the homepage, above the blue footer. From the CMS, the TDO website administrators can add, delete, and re-arrage these promo buckets to address the current trends in the high tech sector they call home. These same promo buckets actually appear on most of the inside pages of the website, listed in text form on the right sidebar.

OK, there's a promo bucket on the homepage and a few more details on the inside pages as well, so what? The beauty is that the website editors edit this information only once in the CMS. By managing these promos from one central location, TDO can optimize their website more efficiently and accurately, allowing them more time to get their real jobs done.

By design, the most important content on the homepage is also is easiest to find. Why? Because the content is flying past you. The homepage image slider, right below the main navigation, highlights the main functions of the company. The design is sleek, attractive, and most importantly, eye catching.
