That's the funny part about building great websites: if you build one, the word gets out, and others want the same thing! The Cayuga County Office of Tourism website is our second destination website, after the Syracuse CVB. TourCayuga.com has resources for all types of visitors looking to enjoy the region (of which the wine tours are our personal favorite).
The Trip Planner
Being a tourism website, most website visitors are from out of town. These sandals-with-high-sock-wearing folks are savvy, and know how to get their trips going. But do they know where they are going once they arrive in Cayuga?
The Cayuga trip planner has got their backs. Website visitors can add the hotels, restaurant, parks, campsite, wineries, and shops they want to visit to the trip planner, and the route will automatically be mapped out for them. A quick print and people are ready to slip their personalized travel plans right into their fanny-packs. Read this blog post to learn more about the trip planner.
One happy CMS & CRM family
Most people think that a CMS (content management system) is for keeping website content fresh. But did you know that our CMS can also act as a fully-functional CRM (customer relationship management) tool?
Most of the content on TourCayuga.com is business listings and related packages & information. We installed a custom-developed quasi-CRM system to manage all of these businesses, their contact information, and other details. This back-end CRM solution is integrated with the forward-facing business listings on the main website - enter data once, display it all over. When the site was launched in March 2012, the staff over at the Cayuga CVB were happy to delete their Excel files and manage everything right on their website CMS.
Your destinations, on the go
All of the business listings, promotional packages, and wine tour information is also available on the mobile website. Not a single listing was left out. That means there are hundreds of pages crammed into your tiny phone screen, but we made it work. The intuitive browsing interface makes finding your destination a snap, and from the listing page, you can easily get directions if you're lost.
